Interesting question. But I don't know how a city could hold trademark rights to it's name.
That would give them the right to prohibit every other town and city from using the same name, which is not the case with virtually every well-know city name. |

No there is no issue as such. You can register a domain name which ever you wish to. Take instance of my city. I am from Pune, India. Some of the domains not mentioned in the list is been registered from outside India,thought there are no issues. I don't think so there is not issue with the domain name as long as it is not owned by someone elsebr
