I recieved Zoo Tycoon @ recently and my graphics card is having compatibility issues with DirectX and I have yet to play my game. Can anyone suggest a PCI graphics card that will work with XP and my game?!

Both ridiculos comemnts. You most definietly cannot get a good video card for 440, and a $1000 video card is way over the top for this kinda thing. I could buy a new computer for $1000!!!! What you want is something that will give you good graphics for the latest games. I suggest the ATI 9600 series 256mg video card. It costs about $200 australian, so thats about $120 american. It has a good frame rate for the latest games like san andreas running on high graphics settings. DO NOT GET A $1000 VIDEO CARD OR AN EL CHEAPO CARD!!!!!!!

r0sered1ster, contrary to what others said, you don't need to upgrade for this particular game. Zoo Tycoon has extremelly small requirements when it comes to graphics card (it's 2D game after all...), and basically everything that'll run Windows XP, will also run Zoo Tycoon. You should install latest DirectX and latest drivers for your graphics.

Also, somewhat commenting one of suggestions above - dauodwa is generally right, however hist post is 1,5 or 2 years late. Now, when buying affordable GFX card, a recommended choice would be Gf 6600. Of course both suggestions, his and mine, are irrelevant for you since you need PCI card for your machine...

I truly agree that zoo tycoon is a dos game that runs on old versions of windows, but see thats the trouble windows xp is not meant to be running old games. Its made for modern games. But who wants to play old games, seriously. Play modern games that require heaps of graphics requirments. I suggest that you get a Raedeon model.

Zoo Tycoon is a Windows application making use of DirectX, which was published by Microsoft at around the same time when Windows XP was released. Do you have any more "interesting" info?

lol, good one (BTW, we have a name for this here: Kali mentality - "when I'll do that for somebody - good; when somebody does that to me - bad")

But you know, someone has to cut the BS at some point...or r0sered1ster will go and buy latest GFX card on one hand, or starts to use Tseng ET6000 + Voodoo (the ultimate combination when it comes to playing DOS games) on the other for running 2D Windows DirectX game...
