whats so great about the game doom 3 anyway?

Ive played doom3, and personally, i dont like the game doom3. Its okay, but it gets so boring!!!!!!!! I prefer the old MS-DOS doom games. whats everybody else think???

Hell yea man! doom 3 is crap. nothing can beat the classic MS-DOS doom. Doom 3 was way overhyped, like so many other games

Uhmm...what? It's definatelly not more shallow conceptually than old Doom games...and it wasn't meant to be anything more.

You only think that way (but I seem to notice that you often assume that what you think = how things were/are). ID basically only concetrated, in publicity stunts, on marvelous new engine and effects of it on gameplay/atmosphere and so on, and it that regard the game delivers - but for some reason people like you assumed the game would be 8th wonder of the world and were dissapointed because of this...

Zimo, Doom3 was overhyped. They made it sound like a wonderfull game, biult on a superior engine, and it wasnt! Just like Driver3.

Just a bit off topic, what was Driver 3 like then?, I remember ages ago playing Driver 1 and 2 when they came out, including the GBA Version,but never got around to playing Driver 3
