It will not be fair on me to suggest your swtiching, as involvment of funds on your part is involved. However i could understand from the following thread:http://forums.devshed.com/archive/t-211423 that security is the issue. Presently the GC board does not have much of commercial activity. Therefore unless you plan to have those, moving to VB is a decision you have to base on your financial outlays.

I personally like the vBulletin messaging system much better. I enjoy the customizability and administrative options far better than that of phpBB, our current system. I vote to move to vB!

By the way, whoever was thinking of donating vB to us has dropped out - his "friend" disagreed. So I'd most likely be paying for this out of my pocket.

o_O

The Fortean Times forums had recently just switched from vBulletin to phpBB. Not so sure if using vBulletin is quite a good move, but I'm fine either way. (Just not Invision, PLEASE)

umm ya

it seems paying out of your pocket would be a lot of money, but i think it would be better to move to vB so i am going to vote yes.

suggestion, if you do decide to move you can set up a donation thing to help pay for it

GC is fine the way it is, no need for it to be switched to vB...If you really want to switch, switch it to Invision Power Board, or better yet(shameless plug) MyBBoard(MyBBoard.com)

I am going to have to go with yes on this one. VB looks a lot better.

Personally I think a switch to vB would be a good idea, so I have voted yes. How much would you have to pay for a license?

According to the order page, it's $85 for a leased license (one year) and $160 for a permanent owned license. Not very cheap either way. O_O
