Ways to make GC more popular...

One way we could make the "Google Community" more popular is by advertising invites. Although I am going to kick myself later on for this, many people in the Google Groups section are looking for invites inside Gmail and Orkut. If you simply announce a mini competition or something, it would make the community more popular (say an invite a day into gmail and five into Orkut). What do you guys think about this?
