The need for an additional administrator.
As I have been observing the way GC runs, I have noticed some major flaws. Spammers have days at a time to go about their spamming without being banned. And who is left to clean it up? The moderators. We need an additional administrator to keep things orderly. I have talked privately with many moderators and they think the same way. So, we are asking you Intelliot: Please appoint an additional trusted moderator to an Administrator level, so they have the power to respond to spamming threats immediately, instead of waiting the hours or days for a ban or decision from yourself. Another option is to just give a certain moderator banning priveleges or making them a Super Moderator. Thank you.
If you agree, please sign the following petition: http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/gcadmin This post is cross-posted from the private forum. A substantial amount of discussion has already occurred. Intelliot has agreed to add an additional administrator when the petition reaches the 45 signature goal. Quote:

Some of you mods may have read this in the private forum but I post it again here so members can see.
I think there is no need for a second admin. If you run your own site you would know why. You wouldnt want another person taking control over your site and making decisions that you do not approve. Also along with tokkolo, we do have a lot of moderators here and a bunch of them arent active. I know I am not that active anymore because of my site and school work. Another reason why I am inactive is because there is nothing new on this forum. Its the same s**t over and over again. Whenever I pop in for a look, I only see posts in the marketplace or chit-chat. Sometimes in graphics and site reviews because people want to advertise their site and images. This forum is for Google fans and personally, it is more of a leisure site that is not Google related. Well that is what I think. I can go on with more but I wont. |

There is only so much google to go around, it takes days for something new to break at times. Most everything that's going on in the Google world is already posted here as we speak, this includes current and relative topics. There must be other topics (leisure) going on in order to have daily interests here.
I also agree that there is a lot of moderators here, but it seems that many are inactive. They should step up or step down, very simple. I have heard nothing but 'how sick GC is and talk of inmature posting and so on... if you want this place to be mature, post mature topics, if you do not want it to remain sick , then take an active role in its healing. We have way too many fragile egos around here, insecure and inmature as well. Everyone has this thurst for power!!, for what?!! why?! Ask yourself why you are a member here, then be a proactive member! If you want to create an environment of kindness, with intelligent topics, be kind and intellectual yourself, Everytime a topic is killed by harsh moderation, you have failed the community as a mod, Be discrete, your goal is to have control, but not to disrupt the flow. There is all kinds of new content in this forum, have a look around and see! Now please, let's all have fun here and learn a few things, it's what we make of it ultimately. |

Randy,
Thanks for bringing it to forum. Now you see the reactions. It gives more insight. Mayur, I do agree with you on some of the comments. But with gmail available in plenty, the purpose of this board has to undergo a change. Besides google, there are other topics which can be exchanged for the sake of knoledge. But this is for the members to act and an additional moderator is not going to help. It appears that randy has ideas and want to share with intelliot. But intelliot being the owner/promoter of the board has the final say and we should learn to respect it. Intelliot, if he is intelligent, would like to hear the words of the members, see whether it aligns with his goals and should decide accordingly. |

I think it would be a good idea for another administrator, but it may be smarter for the super mod position. Anyone who had hosting with xtreme-webhosting knows what I mean. Also:
If you do not see new content, post your own. Forums aren't just for you to come and read every day hoping that everyone else will supply you with information. You must help too (I know, I haven't done much in regards to that - shut up) |

Well like I said earlier in the Moderators' forum, it would be best to go for supermods if we are not trust-worthy enough to be entrusted with the 'Moderate GC$', if that is the case. Intelliot can also have one of his friends help him in adminsitration

hello everyone!!
I would like everyone participating in this discussion to think cool, and come to conclusions for your self. Mr. Randy has been very active and would like the board to be spam free. He has ideas and prefer to be the additional moderator ( Randy, correct me if my inferences are wrong ) Personally i do not have any objection in either Randy or anyone for the matter to be an additional moderator with more power, or call that as supermod... But then.. dont you agree that it is for intelliot to decide! See the latest actions of intelliot! He had sought for donations thereby indicating that he needs funds for the upkeep of the board. It costs money and it is right on his part to think that he should contribute to the supermod who is going to take some load off! but from where? look at the reply of intelliot: when the petition reaches 45 signatures he will do the needful. Have you come across any poll in which the existing members have participated numbering 45? even those maximum number of persons who were on line at one time have only marginally crossed this limit. Thus he feels that the participation does not warrant another admin- super mod which ever way you call it. Thus in my opinion the writing is on the wall!! It is his board and he has every right to decide!! |
