What should we do to improve?
Dear members of GoogleCommunity.com,
I was wondering today what I should to to improve this website. I thought about a lot of things: adding more mods, holding giveaways, removing ads, promoting more, or just asking people to get more active about posting. Then I realized - why don't I just ask you? So: what should we do to improve GC? You can select multiple choices - and please reply with any comments or specific suggestions. Thanks! Last edited by intelliot; 08-27-2007 at 08:27 PM. |

I would like links that take me back to the Community at the end of the thread. That way I won't have to scroll all the way to the top. I am thinking about the Google community > The Community> "Forum category">"Thread" - thingy.

Search Rankings
I honestly don't remember why I joined this community. I think it was because I wanted to find out how to improve my search rankings within Google. Since that seems to be the case, can anyone here suggest what to do outside of creating a sitemap, adding my link to as many web pages as possible, and updating the tag list in my site? If this question has been answered a thousand times (which I'm sure it has) and you all don't feel like chiming in, I'll do a search to see what I can find.

I suggest lets just focus on Search Engine Optimization, Web Devt. and Designs.. Off-topic categories must be limited.. and advertise this site with the help of the active members here... you can give prizes for the advertisers in return of promoting this forum site.. new members can join promoting this site and can also get a prize from GC...

I would say the forum needs more active members, as currently one can count them on fingers. Also, some advertising could bring more people with new topics and fresh ideas. "Introduce yourself" topic should be the first one in the forum list, because many people introducing in wrong threads.
Personally, I would love to discuss global warming problem for example, but not sure where If I start a new thread in "Chit Chat", it will slide down to bottom in 1 day. Some important topics (like this one) should be sticky I think, because it will never expire and there always be someone to discuss it. Another thread related to science (I've met few people around here who interested in that). A thread related to music, music instruments and software would be nice too. Also try to google "forum ideas" and I'm sure you'll find some good advices from another forum holders. Finally, I think many will agree that last thing that this forum needs is more "adds", they can be for not registered users, but why torture us? LOL Regards, |

I registered with this forum to attempt to get assistance re GDS because I couldn't seem to get answers anywhere else. Well...I didn't get any answers here either. As I mentioned in my posts, I was comparing GDS with Microsoft's DS. While I'm not a MS fan and I did like the interface to GDS, when I couldn't get answers to my questions, I had no choice but to go back to MS DS and stop using GDS.
I do believe more people need to participate, and that includes Google staff, to make this forum effective. I may try again at a later point. |

No worries alex, I'll discuss basically anything
But I would like a forum with more a more serious and scientific feel to it. The threads at the general discussion forum aren't very "scientific" ... |
