Here we are
So here we are, one year after Google Community was founded. Many good things have happened in this last year and we'll make sure many good things will happen this next year. Currently we are working on implementing a few more phpbb mods.

Win a prize!
We couldn't let this day go bye without a little extra, so today we are going to give GC$ 10,000 away! We will do this in the form of a lottery. The first prize is GC$ 6,000, the second prize is GC$ 3,000 and the third prize is GC$ 1,000. All you have to do to sign up is to post a reply to this topic. To draw the winners of the lottery we will assign everybody who signs up (and is eligable) with a number, and we will randomly draw a top 3 (first, second and third prize) by using http://random.org/sform.html

The conditions to enter this lottery is that you have registered before or on April 29, 2005 and have a minimum of 10 posts on that date. We have set this minimum to make sure that only real members are eligable for the lottery and that members who only sign up for the lottery are excluded.

What comes next?
If you are curious what we have planned for Google Community in the next year, be sure to stick around an you'll find out. Let's not spoil the suprise by telling you what we have in mind. Okay, let's spoil it a little bit. One thing we are working on is to get the [img]-tag back for senior members. But please do remember that currently we are still exploring the possibilities for images in signatures and posts and we are not sure if it is possible yet. You just have to wait to found out what we can make of it. If you have good suggestions feel free to sent us a pm.

Now, enough with this, time to do the hokey pokey and start dancing!

Take care and enjoy the forums!

The Google Community Team

Let the celebrations begin!

But before hand as this is my eagerly awaited 2000 post here at Google Community

I would just like to say its been a pleasure meeting all of you and yes I mean every single one of you from passers by to long time members you’ve all made possible what Google Community is to date and that’s something to be proud of.

I can’t imagine what my life would have been like if I had never found Google Community (I found google community the same way as broken did) tough one thing is for certain my life would have been much easier as I wouldn’t have be helping you lot all out from time to time, however its absolutely no problem with me at all because I always like to keep busy and I always like a good challenge and if I wasn’t here I would only be hanging around some forum probably a HL2 Forum, however I’m not there but here with you fantastic people, I can also say that I would have know much less about certain things and that its been experience for me at these forums.

While I’m here I would also like to say that I wish you a prospectus future at school, college, university or work and anything else you may be doing towards your future career plans.

I’ve been saying this for a while now that I should take a break for a week or so and you have all agreed that I deserve a well earned break, so once the celebrations have died down a bit I will sneak of somewhere however for now I will carry on posting while the celebrations are in progress and once I leave I may from time to time check Google Community out just to make sure your still having fun, and your not being spammed, because as a moderator I still have a duty to perform.

Now without further ado let the celebrations begin.

Let’s rock like its 1999 (1999 – 2000 posts)

Yours truly,
Darren Straight

Happy birthday, Google Community. Wow, it's been a long time, hasn't it? It seems like just yesterday that I registered here, recieved an gmail invite, and was off posting. I really appreciate GC and everyone here. I've learned a lot from everybody and hope to see the community grow and prosper even more in the future. Personally, I'd like to thank everyone that has stuck with us, through everything, including and not limited to intelliot, tokkolo, cvrk, Eric, and Darren. I think it has really been the six of us that have been here since the beginning, and those mentioned and all other members and contributors deserve a pat on the back.

Thanks to everyone - for one year of GC fun.

Are forum moderators eligible in the lottery? :P

Regards,

Randy

Happy first anniversary to everyone on GoogleCommunity.
I don't really have much to say except that I love lemonparty. People instantly close their windows if they are alarmed that a linked they clicked pointed to lemonparty whereas I on the other hand would open 6 more tabs of the same site on my Firefox browser. Lemonparty is very fascinating and is a work of art. I hope you guys read my message thoroughly and try to realize the true artistic beauty of lemonparty.

Happy Birthday Google Community!!
I'm glad for all of us and I hope there will come some more exciting good things on GC soon
3000 members is honestly really good for the first year. I made a quick calcullation to predict how much members it would have in 1 year from now.
Let's say, these days, we are gettings around 20 new members a day. Probably, that will increase even more as GC becomes 'older'... 20x365= 7200 members.
That means we'll reach the 10 000 members before the next anniversary date of GC
Well so I hope it keeps growing so the forum gets more active, I like that.
Hey, I like the logo, no, really, it's well done, I wonder who made it, lol.

And of course, I'm here to win that prize :P

Edit: I forgot, that IMG tag for senior members would be a great solution, couldn't think better! So I hope Intelliot will agree with that
