Unjustified moderation.
Some of you may remember a topic in the graphics design forum where a person was asking for the Catull font. Geekerati provided the person who requested the font promptly with a link through a PM. Gooooogler replied that one should not boast about not being greedy. I quoted him and emphasized the same thing, remarking that wise people do not boast of their wisdom and concluded my message saying that Geekerati is truly not greedy and we all know it, so the message on Gooooogler's part was not really necessary. After a few follow-up replies, Randy decides to replace my message by editing it with the text "Message deemed inappropriate - Randy Johnston", and also removed my message from everyone's posts which quoted mine. I had complained in the topic which sparked Justin's interest and he was inquiring me about what I had posted. I sent him a PM with the same. After a few posts of our conversation, Randy decides to delete all of our posts in the topic. Wow, great job there, wonder moderator.
If you need witnesses, there is always Gooooogler and Justin, I don't remember any others. I know this site does not endorse or condone free speech, but you should conform to atleast a primitive principle version of that. I am worked up by this because I did not post anything offensive. |

If the post you make is not directly related to the subject of the topic, then it will be deleted. Eric - you shouldn't be here any more anyway. Moderators have the right to enforce the rules - that's their job. And if you're posting inappropriate content with no relation to the subject of the topic, it will be deleted.
And if you hate this site and its people so much - why are you here? |

Right, so I suppose you will immediately get to work with deleting dude66's redundant posts. His posts are, 90% of the time, pointless, yet those are never deleted.

However... I'm leaving this topic open for now, I'm going to discuss this with intelliot, plus I want some more opinions on it from other members. Ps. dude66 we have told you again and again please stop posting useless posts.

Yes, I am a witness. I think the posts were deleted unjustly. You're showing a sort of favoritism as well, deleting Eric's posts when there are plenty more on this forum that should be deleted first-and you take no heed to! The fact that Eric should not be here is irrelevant. You didn't delete his posts on those grounds, you deleted them because you "deemed them innapropriate" which was not the case.
"If the post you make is not directly related to the subject of the topic, then it will be deleted." That's a contradiction with your past actions, and I can prove it over and over again. If that was true, there are a lot of unnecessary posts that you failed to delete. Better get to work... EDIT: I'm speaking about posts which you were able to delete, not the ones that were out of your moderation reach. |

I am not going into the merits or demerits of the post, whether they warranted deletion or otherwise. The fact appears to be that some of the members feel that the moderators are acting in a biased manner. This sort of view will appear, when the moderators become the reviewer of the opinions. In my view, a good moderation is one which is unbiased, and allows different point of view. In my opinion offensive and words not in tune with the spirit of the board are only to be deleted and the decison is not to be based on views of the post. If a moderator feels that the post is not in tune with the thread he can move it to other forums than complete deleting. But he has the right to delete the post, if in his opinion, the material is offensive and not in spirit of the board. I also feel that the members of this forum should provide time for the moderators to gain experience, if needed, than concluding on their integrity! I suggest that the moderators sit amongst themselves and prepare a dos and donts for the members. It is a thankless job no doubt, but let us do it in the interest of the community.
