I have recently cleaned me computer of spyware, using Spybot - Search and Destroy. I am now getting an error message every time I start the PC. This is the error message:

Can someone please tell me what's wrong? Thanks

EDIT: I am running Windows XP Pro.

Spybot probably deleted the file from your computer. The file was probably infected with spyware.

BTW Use SpySweeper. It is much better. Let me know and I will get you a copy of it.

Credit goes to Eric for the fix, i typed this though.

This is in X

1.Go to run and type "msconfig" (without the quotes)
2. Go to the "Startup" tab.
3. Find the entry "cdaEngine0400" and un-tick the box next to it.
4. Click "Apply" then "Close".
5. Restart the computer and all should be well.

It was probably a registry problem. The easy way to stop this is to run Registry Check after Spybot, that's what I do. Then if anything's gone wrong you can retreive the file from the recycle bin.

Yea if you want to speed up your computer startup then just uncheck all the programs that you dont want to start when you turn on your computer. Speeds up depending on what you have starting when you tunr on your computer.

Another great spyware tool is ad-aware. It can be downloaded from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/.

It's saved me from some nasty spyware and malware programs that my wife 'accidentally' installed.
