Microsoft Office

Anyone know where I can get it cheaper than $99.99. I basicly just need word so my brother stops taking my laptop to do his homework.

Why not try Open Office. It's free and is similar to Microsoft's Office.

OpenOffice is definitely the way to go. i even have the "Portable" version of it that I keep on my flash drive and I use it at work instead of Microsoft Office. brbrIt has similar features, allows you to save files in native Microsoft formats, and is free. You can't beat that!brbrPlus you can export files to .PDF format to view in Adobe Reader...

One of the features I find the most useful is found in OpenOffice Impress - you can save presentations as flash files - meaning they can be viewable on the web, and don't have to be downloaded and opened in Powerpoint.

That's pretty badass...I don't know why I've never gotten it. i've heard about it just never used it. So it can read all types and versions of MS Office?? Even 2k3?

I think so, although it does say not all features are fully supported.
When you open OpenOffice Writer for the first time it asks if you want to save the documents in OOo (OpenOffice.org file format) or .doc (MS Word file format). This feature's pretty useful, since I don't know anyone else who uses OpenOffice.
