png images in Internet

Hello. I am curious about the internet browser version that will come bundled with the windows vista. Will the Microsoft guys finally fix the problem that doesn't allow the internet browser display the png graphics wich were developed for Internet use? I have some nice icons, from [ad removed -admin]and other vendors, and wonder if some day will be possible to put the images with different shadow and transparency values into a page without having to get the horrible gray background.

Internet Explorer doesn't support PNGs?
Are you sure?
It isn't that bad a browser.

It supports PNGs. At least on my PC. Maybe you're using a really, really old version of it or something.

steparths never said that IE didn't support PNGs. It supports them, but it doesn't support alpha-channel transparency. I believe that IE7 will support PNG transparency, though.
