A very important thing when buying a computer is to know what's inside, because vendors get their money from what you buy. And when a product is more expensive than other ones, they get a hhigher commission when they buy it. Following this example, you see that Intel is more expensive than AMD, so do you know who's getting more money?
Analysing what an Intel and an AMD processor offer using equal conditions, you'll see that you can save money. |

It all depends on what you want to do. Here are some comparisons. I won't make any judgment, just offer what I've noticed:
AMD chips run a lot hotter than Intels. Intel chips usually have higher clock speeds and bus speeds, however AMD processors often out-perform Intel chips despite a lower speed (for instance, a AMD Athlon XP 2100+ (1.8GHz) outperformed my P4 3.6GHz. This was while the CPUs were being used for gaming. AMD chips are generally cheaper too. From what I gather, Intel's business philosophy is to make the bleeding-edge fastest processors, while AMDs is to offer the most stable (though not necessarily fastest) processors. If you want a processor fit for day to day use, go for Intel and Nvidia, but for gaming, I suggest you go for AMD and ATI..Just my opinion, though I'd stick with Intel... |

Damn I should've read this earlier, because I was in England 1-2 weeks ago during my absence from GC$. I forgot to take money but luckily I had a little money in my wallet and went to a foreign exchange office. Whaddya know, I got EXACTLY 1337 pounds hehe...I was hoping it would stay that amount but damn, I saw that I had 700 pounds in my wallet too(from my last visit) :S...If I knew I think I could've gotten you an LCD monitor if it was within 250-400 pounds :S... as I didn't have any use for pounds anyway, plus I don't mind giving x-mas presents(sometimes even if they're early) and I had a 2-way plane ticket(didn't know that though :S) Beh guess I wasted precious Canadian dollars for pounds I'll never likely use...(is it possible to donate pounds?? then I can donate the amount you need for an LCD).... |

How bad that you happened to read this post a bit too late, never mind. Anyway I like the sound of donating pounds, maybe we can convert them into GC$ first, that way you could donate be GC$ then I could convert them back to pounds, he he he. Or maybe we could use pay-pal or something. Just kidding.
