from that i can guess what that means.

i have read the manual and i have checked to see if my firewall is blocking msn and it isn't. so can anyone suggest what is wrong.

the main problem is, there is no error message. after i click sign in it will try to sign in for about 2 minutes and then it just stops by itself and no error message comes up.

i have tried the trouble shooter and that still cant tell me how to fix it. anyone know???

Have you opened up the ports that MSN messenger uses? You can find the ports that it needs and run tests by (in MSN messenger) going to Tools --> Options --> Connection --> Advanced settings. Hope this helps!
