PC-cillin Reviews?

Anyone used this application or have input on it? I'm thinking of using it in place of Norton anti-virus '04 and Zone Alarm Pro.

I just found a very old copy of PC-Cillin on my computer in an old folder...I used it for a while a long time ago and I wasn't satisfied...It's not as good as other free antivirus solutions like AVG, like Cvrk pointed out...Though their free online web-scan is nice ...but even that is outclassed by Norton's free web-scan...

I am going to stick with my Norton Ghost and Ad-Adware. They do a good enough job for me.

PC-Cillin is still a very good piece of software, the Trend Micro sites on line scanner that Eric referred to is called Housecall. It's very effective. I'm currently using Norton 2004, but will switch to NOD32 in two months. It has never failed to catch a virus in the wild when tested, being 100% effective, if there really is such a thing. The scan engine is incredibly fast, too. Check it out! I woudn't run the trial verson with any other anti virus solution installed on your PC, so if you give it a go, be sure uninstall the other first.

Norton is a proven comodity and I have been pleased with it, but I have this 'thing' about trying all of the different programs out. It usually gets me in trouble. 'Curiousity killed the cat', eh. I have to re-install windows every six to nine months and constantly clean out the registry because of my downloading habits. You can learn alot though from mucking up your machine.

Housecall is a bit better at catching trojans than Norton from my experience. One of the worst things that I have seen is 'coolwebsearch' It's like a new breed of malware or something. It can be very difficult to get everything back to normal once it hits your machine. They do have a program out now to specifically remove it. Here is a great site that can come in handy at times. It was included in the nice list provided by antioco2003!
