Hdd recovery

I had installed linux on my 80GB samsung hdd by making partitions with win98 fdisk

1.Primary dos- 20 GB

2.Extended dos 40 GB

3. 2 logical drives 20 gb each in extended partition

THen i started linux 9 installation i had to manually create linux partitions /root, /home, /dev, user.......................... and use that left 20 gb.

i had installed win98 on primary dos and win 2000 on a logical drive.

Things were fine at first , boot sequence was

Linux Grub> Linux
Dos > Win 2000
WIN 98

tHEN LINUX GOT CORRUPTED.............

i USED LINUX 7.3 INSTALLATION DISK TO DELETE LINUX PARTITION, tHEN AFTER REBOOT MY HDD WAS DOOMED
i HAD LOST MY WIN 2000, AND OTHER LOGICAL DRIVE.....

i TRIED WIN98 STARTUP DISK : FDISK , IT WAS SHOWING 33 gb IN TOTAL...

i TRIED sUTIL AND HUTIL FROM SAMSUNG DID LOW LEVEL FORMATTING WITH THEM, sTILL IT IS 33gB..

i HAD SEND IT TO MY PC CONSULTANT AND HE contacted samsung even they have failed.....

Is there any way to recover this 47gb space????

I will thankful for ur opnion and comments

First of all, a clarificacion: Linux is the core of it all, the kernel. What we see, the "outside", is the result of the actions of some differents distributions (distros).

You don't mention the distro you used (at least I don't read anything about it), but the most "easy" ones have their own partitioning tools you can use before installing the distro. It's a nice way of forgetting the obsolete fdisk command.

Did you provide space for the swap partition?

You say "then Linux got corrupted" (I avoid the shouts). I can hardly understand what you mean by that. By itself? You were just looking at the screen and then it failed? Or did you do anything and then it got f*cked?

Another thing I don't understand: You used an installation disk to delete a partition?

I'm not sure if in your case it will be successful, but using tools as Partition Magic and Paragon Disk Manager (I think that's the right name) you can recover hidden and/or lost partitions.
Also, you should have a look at the boot sector to see if Grub is still there.

Thanks u both for ur reply

For antico2003
1. I had provided swap space for linux 256MB

2. I mentioned linux got corrupted because my cousin frequnetly uses my pc(linux as well as windows) he uses all types of ware(spy, xxx........) . I have good time removing and detecting them, may he has deleted my linux folders and files, i couldn't get in to "startx" after login. Also it better not to blame him cause i really dont know what went wrong.I am seeing it as a problem( finding solution) not point my fingers at anybody.

3.I tried removing linux with the installation disk , as had read in some microsoft site recommending that.

I suggest you use Partition Table Doctor to resolve your
problem. The software provides very useful functions:
Backup partition table, Restore partition table, Rebuild
partition table, undelete partition, Fix boot sector,
rebuild mbr,etc.

First thing I recommend you download the demo version of
Partition Table Doctor.( http://www.ptdd.com/download.htm )

Run the program and select "Rebuild Partition Table",
then choose "Interactive" mode. If you can find the partition
you need, that is Partition Table Doctor can help you. Otherwise,
Partition Table Doctor cannot help you.
