QWERTYZERTY keyboards

I was talking to Laurent just a minute ago on msn and he was telling me that he uses a AZERTY keyboard layout and that he prefers it better than the QWERTY keyboard layout.

Quote:
The most common logical keyboard layout for Latin languages is known as QWERTY, based on the first six keys on the upper alphabetic row. This layout was selected to slow down typists in the days of mechanical typewriters. Not all keyboards are laid out in this way. In France, the most common layout is AZERTY. In Germany and some other countries the Z and Y are reversed giving the QWERTZ layout. An English keyboard with better typing speed is the Dvorak keyboard. Despite the better typing performance, this keyboard has never caught on, but is used for a few specialized purposes.
Please use the poll to vote for what layout you prefer to use, there's many other layouts like ones used for programming but I would like a comparison only between these two layouts.

Thanks

Well, I (like a lot of people) use a QWERTY keyboard. It would take me ages to learn to type reasonably fast on a AZERTY keyboard.

I still haven't masted my QWERTY!

I remember when I was in Austria, and the Y and the Z were reversed. That was annoying.

The keyboard I like the most is DasKeyboard.

Lol when I was in England on holidays, I had to use a QWERTY, which was very annoying.

LOL.
That is wrong. That is so wrong, it makes me angry.
Take English for example. English is NOT a Latin/Romance language, it is Germanic. It simply puts to use what is generally credited as the "Roman/Latin" alphabet, which itself was derived from the Greek alphabet. This isn't a major mistake, but I felt that I should point it out.

Edit:
Ahhh... I voted 'QWERTY'...

QWERTY

That's what I've used all my life. In Dutch I can type really fast on it. Image the time it would take me to learn typing on a AZERTY keyboard. Wouldn't want to think about it!

Yeah, maybe AZERTY would work if I'd learned to type on it, but I'm so used to this (QWERTY) that it would take me ages to learn something else.
