Google OS Good Idea Or Not???

I was thinking do you reckon Google could make a good operating system
I wonder if they did it would proberbly be really easy to search and use wot does everyone else here reckon wot features would you like to see and do you think it would beat Windows XP

What do u reckon everyone???

if google were to release an operating system you could bet your bottom dollar it would be a flavour of unix. So by default it would beat XP and most likely the ever pending Longhorn.

But It's extremely unlikely to happen. Google is essentially an advertising platform, and a very good one at that. I don't see how that could carry into an operating system. Look at the fuss over Gmail and text ads

But while an operating system would be well recived, and would also strengthen their 'good guy' persona, it would also be expensive to build and maintain. I don't think even the mighty google would want to take that burden on.

Horrible idea. It could crush Google:
people like butter on their bread. But if they've got enough butter for buttering one piece of bread, they'll not try to butter the whole loaf of bread, because it won't be as good tasting for them.

I would love to see google crush microsoft, Every windows operating system i have used has been a pain in the butt. Before I switched to linux i had to format and reinstall windows every other month because of some mircosoft update gone wrong or microsoft system error.

i know i would pay up to $1000 a pc for a realiable OS.

It probably would be a smart decision for Google to make an open source community.

Fast Google Servers + Open Source + The Will To Destroy micro$oft = sweet!

Think: GLinux, or Googleux or Googleebian.

And for you windows creeps: Google XP

The corny list goes on...

An operating system based in google is actually a great idea. Probably someday google will be the next's rich's company! So, who will make the OS?
