no start on the start menu

wuz wondering how i could make it so that there is just the windows logo on the start button, and no start, i tried googlein it and found a way, but it didnt work.

There is a place in the windows directory that has all the pictures used, like the start, logo, etc. If you find it, you can just edit the picture. After you restart, the start menu will only have the logo. The only problem is that now the startmenu will have a blank spot where start is, because the size of that is hard-coded into the windows source. Good luck editing that!

mondine is an unknown quantity at this point
If you're not into the 'do-it-yourself' method, there are lots of freeware programs that can make modifications easy. For example, I use Tclock2. While primarily a clock skin, it also allows modification to the Start button to add/change text, or substitute a chosen graphic.

To look around for yourself, I'd suggest search terms such as skins, startmenu, taskbar, etc. There are many choices.

It's no longer supported by the original developer. But there's a working download link here:
