I'm having issues with the friend networking site "friendster" and am
wondering if any of you have advice for me. A few years ago, a classmate and I were pulling an all-nighter, and at some point she digressed from her work and decided to create a "friendster profile" for me. About eight months back I googled myself and discovered the profile. Its an incredibly inaccurate and unprofessional depiction of me. I didn't know the log-in information but guessed the email address she used to create it (an old, deactivated account of mine) changed it to my current email address, reset the log-in info, signed on and deactivated the account. The link remains active, however, and thus nothing has changed. I've emailed every contact address on the website about having the page deleted and always receive automated responses. I've called several times and there's always a recording stating that no one is at the office to take my call. I don't know what to do, and I have to get this page down, as we're in an era where our web identity is everything. I know that Google will eventually delete the page if its inactive, but bc the link is still active, I fear this will never happen. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Many thanks! |
