Help me pick a Laptop - Need Input Please!!

I am going to buy another laptop at the after christmas sales. I have always gotten Dell but hate their support these last two years. I tired to upgrade to business support and could not even keep the business department on the phone long enough to ask how. Since I did not have a business support number they switch me before I could find out how to upgrade. I am tired of fighting with their support and mailing in my laptop I have had now for three years in ever four months to be fixed.

Anyway, I need a new laptop, road warrior, very light weight, can run large aned multi programs at the same time. Example Corel Draw, frontpage, word, IE and outlook plus a few chat softwares like yahoo and icq at one time. I will be on it 10 hours a day, five days in a row. I know ths is going to be costly but at that is ok.

Suggestions
Thank you
Kimberly

10h on battery? The only laptops that can do this about which I heard of (which are available here) are some high end (NOT in processing power, but in price/used components - ULV versions of cpu's for example) Sony Vaio's...

Not 10 hours on battery. Just need to be one that can hold up to that kind of work. I been reading and figure out what features I want. Now I am down to trying to decide what are good brands.

Apple and IBM - best ones.
Other "big names" - good
Rest - a lottery, sometimes you'll get a thing on par with "big names" sometimes crap.

Just a note, if you'll go with "Wintel laptop", make sure it's based on Pentium M (or Celeron based on it, NOT the ones based on Pentium 4) or eventually Turion.

I was looking at Think Pad but hear IBM no longer makes them so not sure if I should go with that. I have no idea what a Wintel laptop is but will look it up.

Thank you
Merry Christmas

Thinkpads are still top notch quality.

(and as for 'Wintel" - it's just general term describing computers that have x86 processors and can run Windows; I've used because I mentioned also Apple in my previous post)

I checked out newegg.com, and if price is an issue, you can get a pretty good laptop for $870, it's an acer.
