help needed for SATA drive on Windows XP

I have a seagate SATA drive model ST380817AS on D915GAV board. Though it is SATA drive when i see in device manager.. it is recognized as Ultra ATA. Also, when i tried to install intel's matrix storage manager it tells that my hardware is incorrect. Since there is no SATA shown in device manager... Can anyone Please Help...

you need a seagate driver

When you first format the disk and load xp, it will say load sata driver press f6 (or some other f#); this appears right after the bios loads, and before xp loads. Press f6, then have the driver ready. I believe that you need to have the driver on a floppy (a: drive). From there xp will always recognize the sata even though the bios will never acknowledge the presence of a hard drive.
