Yes, I've heard of it. I've not been there though.
In the last weeks and months I have heard a lot of talk about the lack of knowledge about world geography in the US from studies made by the National GeographicSociety and being a native I thought it would be interesting to make a poll about it. Feel free to share any info or opinions on the studies or the island.

Yes, I am quite familiar with Puerto Rico, and its history. My father's side of the family is from Cuba, and when they left back in the days before Castro, they spread all over the Caribbean to places like Jamaica, Antigua, Dominca, Trinidad, and yes, Puerto Rico. My father eventually immigrated to the U.S. I grew up in Chicago, IL, which has a [b]huge/[b] Puerto Rican community. Of course, folks from Puerto Rico are U.S. citizens, and though they cannot vote for President, there is a representative in the U.S. Congress from the Island.
I've heard of Puerto Rico before, and if you give me a blank world map I can (roughly) point out where the place is.
I wonder if Puerto Rico will have a good chance to be the 51st US state?
I've heard that when it comes up for a vote (as it has several times throughout the years), the majority of Puerto Ricans prefer to remain in their present status. There are some who wouldn't mind becoming the 51st state, and there are some who would like independence.
[b]titototito/[b], will you enlighten us on this?
There's also a study that confirms that 2/3 of all studies done are useless and factually incorrect.
Anyways, I know of Puerto Rico.
Ah, I knwo of it, too. I can locate it on a world map, even if you can't.
Also, Microsoft used to offer 25MB of storage in Hotmail to people in the US and Puerto Rico. It seems they've changed the system lately, though.
