Help needed
BLOCKQUOTEFONT color=#262626PHi I have recently (a week ago) purchased a macbook and love it to bits. Apart from one thing: I cannot get it to work when wireless router is password prtoected. The router etc is all setup - we have 3 pcs running wirelessly and the macbook connection works via the ethernet. It (macbook)also works when the WEP security is disabled from the router's interface. PThe problem seems to be the acceptance of the password. We have a 128 WEP security password. it is 13, alphanumeric, charachters long. As I say, it works first time on all the windows desktops. PNow I am an absolute newbie to mac OSX so if anyone decides to help can you please explain it in real noddy terms. PI've scoured the net for a fix for this but there seems to be far too much contradictory information out there and no real step by step guide to fix this problem. I have the latest software updates and the macbook runs off the 'Built-in 54-Mbps AirPort Extreme wireless networking (based on 802.11g standard)'. The router is a ZyXEL series 600 router which is mac compatible according to the manufacturer. PI've tried putting a '$' infront of the password as well as using quote marks, but to no avail. I've ensured I've selected the 'WEP 128bit ASCII' option as well. PWell, let's hope one of you chaps can help me out here..... P/FONT/BLOCKQUOTE
