Why was forum software changed?

Just curious, why was the forum software chnged from phpBB to vBulletin? There were cash and store mod and other features that are not present in vB.

Arrrrrrrghhhh No offence to anyone But this new vBulletin forum software IS and LOOKS like a total mess! I have used other vBulletin forums before that are OK but I can't even quote what Elliot said above here yet (I REALLY hope this improves! ) LOL!
