I think in order to get a PHd over here, you have to take a series of exams, along with submitting a thesis.
The school systems here are based on competition rather than merit... it seems to me

I have a similar experience. When I start to try to sleep I see faces and they keep changing into other faces men, women, old young and like you bam I am dreaming but I am conscious of the dreams at the first ten or fifteen minutes.

I've done that too,i've been trying to do it while just sitting instead of laying down but it's really hard lol,but I think thats just a few steps behind what we're going for.The furthest i've gotten is more like daydreaming but we both know that thats not exactly an rem cycle...is it?

induced rem sleep

i have had fully awake REM sleep maybe ten times....

eyes bouncing bake and forth much faster than i could ever do it consciously.....

having a dream....

i can feel my body.....

hear the sounds of my surroundings...

wide awake....

it is quite bizarre....

i have not played with it in a while...

it is absolutely possible......

it always starts with me flying through a meteor shower as it fly's passed me... then my eye's start bouncing from slow to fast.....

then i pop into a dream.....

but i am wide awake.... completely aware of my body...

enjoy!
