Lock Picking : Made easy and legal.
Hi guys!
You in all likelihood have never met me, since I'm new to these forums so I'll try to make a good first impression. ^^;; Basically I wanted to guage your reaction and opinions to my latest hobby, Lock Picking. Now, usually when I inform someone I've taken up the hobby, the very first reaction is a wave of "Why the freak would you want to know how to pick locks?!" appear over their faces. And fair enough too.. I locked myself out of the house twice in one week (I'm a bit like that) and had enough of waiting for my girlfriend to get home to open the door for me. I youtubed a few lock picking video's that day and realised just how accessable this skill was. So I ordered my lockpick sets online and within a week I was picking padlocks and recording it on youtube and having a generally great time. Now... Before anyone jumps to conclusions, myself, and indeed the majority of the more ethical and moralistic members of the lock picking community have two simple rules that afford us the opportunity to pick locks without breaking the law. They go as follows... 1) If you do not own the lock, you do Not pick it. You dont even consider it. 2) If you dont have permission to pick the lock, again, you dont even think about it. Such simple rules and easily adhered to, thus ensuring no-one is hurt and no laws are broken. The way I like it. In fact, I preach this message in almost all my video's and video descriptions. So why lock picking? I love the puzzle aspect of picking a lock. Every lock has its own uniqueness, its own tricks and hurdles within that require a deft touch, a soft hand, quick reflexes and a thinkers mind to overcome. Its really quite an art and is extremely satisfying once you gain a control over it. So why tell you guys about it? I aim to bring lock Picking to a more mainstream audience. I hope to achieve bringing an awareness to the general public that locks ARE NOT SAFE in many instances. Most boast things on their packaging like "High security" and things like this, when the reality is, anyone with a simple lock pick tool can bypass it in seconds. I also hope to entertain people with my video's and hopefully make some new friends along the way! ^^;; My Youtube channel is YouTube - ModeraDour's Channel and there you will see my exploits in the hobby as well as have access to links to tutorials on how to get better. I hope if you view them, you enjoy and comment. Now that the shameless plug is over, what do you think? I'm sure there will be questions and discussion to be had regarding this. Fire away. Have fun and stay safe peepz. Dour |
