How do I import addresses from a text file

I have a list but I can't import it to my contacts any suggestions

Comma Separated Values (.csv) which is a sort of spreadsheet or danged near database, which is one way to export your Outlook Contacts you may notice... The first record is a header that has labels to warn the importing program what's coming, like "Name,Phone,Address,Email" ... and the second record might have "Herbert Hoover,555-1212,1234 5th St.,herbert@hoover.com"

Then gmail at the bottom of the Contacts screen has an Import button to go through the steps...

Ive been looking in microsoft exel for a .csv format but I haven't seen one in there. You must forgive me if I seem slow I just got a labtop 3 weeks ago and started a business 2 weeks ago.

...you could go over and click File and go down and click Save As and then scroll down the possibilities and see .csv as one of the ones listed ...

Remember to put the file in a place where you can find it again!

Remember to give yourself HEADERS like the ones Gmail is going to expect!

(I've never done by hand, as you're doing...I've always taken the lazy cuss's way out and exported contacts from Outlook and then re-imported the .csv from there to Google!)

Oh and asking is not something for which you need to be forgiven.
