Do you agree with this?

"If you're not good-looking/handsome, you have to be funny."
"If you're not funny, you have to be intelligent/smart."

Me? I dunno.

Being funny, without any offence, is agret gift! If you have the knack, your appearneces does not matter! appearences are only entry ticket, but being jovial, earns a permanant place!

I don't agree with it, because the person personality
comes first.

Like I said, I have no opinion on this. I was asked by someone about it. It's kind of sad that many women don't really pay attention to our humour, intelligence and wit and can only visibly see the outer flesh.
Even though I have no problems, this got me thinking...
I would have rather preferred living in the nineteenth century.

Okay...now that I think about it...I never asked why exactly you have to be good-looking/smart/funny. I wonder why, no wonder I couldn't give an answer. lol

If it's about women, well, the intelligence and humour mean nothing to the egoistical ones.

Various edits:
Women -> most women -> many women.
Spot the morphological evolution? lol

eric, it does not seem to be the way! a jovial person is more liked by a women, or lady. The adolescent girls go for the appearance!

lol, now that I'm thinking, you know, a good appearance does not always enhance your "chances". Look at Johnny Bravo; Though he is an imaginary cartoon character, there are many people like him. Sad individuals with zero personality and intelligence, possessing "good" looks, yet spurned by society.

I leave the discussing to everyone else.

What, now they have to know how to have sex and use a camera at the same time?

...

I disagree with the original statements because I'm smart, witty, attractive, and for some reason nonetheless repulsive to the opposite sex. ;_;

Any man is capable of getting any woman. Watch the movie "Hitch". Movies are notorious for displaying everything but the truth, but this one has some logic to it. A lot of it has to do with being in the right place at the right time. This does not apply to adolescent folks. I have found that girls in my school tend to go for the one with the bigger wallet or the biggest reputation because they somehow think that being popular in high school is going to help them in the real world.

It's like...30% appearance, 60% personality, or something like that. It all has it's place in whether or not you will get a girl. If one man says the right things at the right times, he will most likely get a certain girl. While another man with the exact same personality/looks could not, and would definately not get that certain girl.

Appearance makes it easier to get with a girl, but after she's over that, your personality is the deciding factor. I hope what I've said is understandable, because I'm just rambling on about things I've read/heard/witnessed and the movie Hitch.
