I was wondering how long it would be until somebody posted this at GC, I wonder why me or broken or somebody else didn't post about it was announced on the 22 of June, I think we have just been to excited that the beta is coming even closer now.

Anyway glad to see somebody posted about it, as a lot of people still don’t even know abut this new version of windows!

I've refrained from being the zealous poster I once was here because:
  • I'm too busy right now at work.
Playing World of Warcraft @ night. I'm an Orc Shaman named Moogul. I was going to name him Googul(google), but the rules will not allow it. The Horde rulz!
I'm enjoying the triple digit weather we are having currently in Texas. But, I will be back in full force once the season changes. Yesterday, it was 101 degrees Fahrenheit here, with a heat index of 109!

Thanks Lance for the kind words!

Darren and Broken, I knew you two were probably aware of the name change, but neither of you had posted it yet. So, I went ahead with it. It does not matter who post a topic first, but it's paramount that we post it at some point.

I've managed to go off topic again!! I'm 'THE' worst!

Woooow you certainly are busy.

Don’t worry geekerati I'm not arguing or anything about who posted it first, I would never do that, especially you one of are kindest members here.

In fact I'm very happy that you did post it.

Now let’s get back on topic after you messed it up, muhahahahaha. (just kidding)

Anyway do you think this name change is for the better or for the worst for this Windows.

Definition (vista)

1 LITERARY a view, especially a splendid view from a high position:
After a hard climb, we were rewarded by a picture-postcard vista of rolling hills under a deep blue summer sky.

2 a possible future action or event that you can imagine:
As leader, he opened up exciting vistas of global co-operation.

I think it's bad. As I have said before, it sounds a bit like a cocktail.

Its strange that microsoft has settled for a name for which they don't even have a .com. Vista.com is not registered by Microsoft they instead registered microsoftvista.com for their product.

They also don't have trademark for the same, read the below given article:
http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,121961,00.asp

Officially microsoft has published the information about Vista at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/default.mspx

This is a gold rush sort of thing now, people are trying to secure a stitable name with the string so as to make quick bucks, registries are now flodded with requests to register names with vista word.
