Would you meet somebody online in real life?

I believe my self that as long as you’ve known that person for a while at least a year or so and he/she has been honest with you and you with them that it can become a reality to meet that person in real life but preferable only if you’re older enough or go with somebody who you can trust that is.

As most of you know I’m a person who is very open up to the world and is always trying to make friends, I have made quite a few friends online that I really consider as great friends and I would be very proud to meet them in real life, I believe they feel the same, in fact a couple of them have already agreed to do so at some point.

I have found my self that using msn messenger to talk with its webcam feature and sharing images has helped in the process of this.

But please beware of what could happen if you don’t take this seriously; if you are going to meet up with somebody in real life please make sure you tell a trusted friend or family member that you are going to meet somebody in real life before hand and the whereabouts.

Yup.. I have had the whole online boyfriend thing before and now I look back, if my parents hadn't found out, I might well be dead now.
But of course, if I have known someone for around 2 years or at least a year, and I trusted them, and there was nothing dodgy about them etc, yup I would meet them but of course go with somebody and MEET THE PERSON IN A BUSY STREET OR SOME KIND OF PUBLIC PLACE! always remember that!

I would meet someone that I have chatted with online and phone for awhile before agreeing to meet in person.

And once we decided to meet in person it would be in a public place.

I think it would be ok, as long as you knew the person for a long time. I agree with Darren that MSN and webcams etc help a lot, as it is quite hard these days if people are genuinely the same as they appear to be online. Lol I know quite a few people who seem to adopt different personas while talking on MSN (ie, they become more confident, argumentative etc) So, it would be hard to trust that the person you were talking to would be like that in real life... However, if you are responsible and old enough, and are aware of the possible dangers, I don't see the harm!

I go with meet in a public place like a mall.

I have a webcam and most of the people I chat with and have met in person had one.

So if you chat online, talk on the phone and use the webcam you should pretty much have all your bases covered.

Your gut instinct is also a good tool to use.

I've met (wiley) from ps.com with out even knowing, i was playing on a game in hmv and he was playing against me and then he said have you got your playstation 2 online and that was that.
