Currently my friends and I got a project which require us to create a blog. Now I'm asking help from everyone to participate with this survey. Here goes:

1. Which blog service(s) are you using?

2. Why do you choose that particular blog service(s)?

3. What do you like and dislike about their services / features?

4. What kind of improvement do you think can be made by the service provider?

Livejournal

2. Why do you choose that particular blog service(s)?

Free, simple, has an RSS feed.

3. What do you like and dislike about their services / features?

Like: Free, simple, has an RSS feed.
Dislike: Maybe posting images and links could be even easier.

4. What kind of improvement do you think can be made by the service provider?

I would say they could add more ability to customize, but they do offer that for paid accounts.

WordPress, Blogger.

2. Why do you choose that particular blog service(s)?
WordPress for fast PHP/MySQL on my own server with unlimited flexibility and SE-friendly URLs. Blogger for Blog*Spot free hosting, built-in templates, WYSIWYG editor, and because Google owns it.

3. What do you like and dislike about their services / features?
WordPress isn't quite fast enough, theme selection could be better, default install not adequate. Blogger bad commenting interface, comment spam problem, and works via FTP only (requires republishing; not dynamically-generated pages).

4. What kind of improvement do you think can be made by the service provider?
Rectifying the above dislikes and above all, keep it fast, simple, easy to develop for.

Free, No ads, free hosting, nice domain name, i can use my own design, easy editor.

3. What do you like and dislike about their services / features?
Like: Ability to customize, editor
Dislike: Interface of the blogger site.

4. What kind of improvement do you think can be made by the service provider?
Integrating it with normal Google Services.
Blogger.com interface is not very impressive, slow and not very simple, it is better if they use google/gmail like interface which will make it simple and fast.

I'm going to break the format a little since I host my own blog and create the software myself.

Because I control it

I like everything about it, I created it.
4. What kind of improvement do you think can be made by the service provider?
Eh, many(Need to add a category option), give me a few clones to make a few add-ons.

easy to use and free!

for LJ: I loved their "invite-only" but they've decided to give their invites away..

i hope LJ returns their "invite-only" membership, so we won't have all those sites in there just wasting space..

Blogger, and my own custome built CF version


2. Why do you choose that particular blog service(s)?
Because it is free/because BLOGGER F'd up my account, so I had to build one that wouldn't get F'd up again.

3. What do you like and dislike about their services / features?
Blogger - if you try to switch from hosting in their server to your own, make sure you get it right.

4. What kind of improvement do you think can be made by the service provider?

Make it easier to swap from their hosting to your own server.

Because it's free and easy for me to use.

3. What do you like and dislike about their services / features?

They have spam issues which make listings hard with some blog search engines.

4. What kind of improvement do you think can be made by the service provider?

Create a comments on hold section, so submission can be reviewed before going online. The way it works now is that you can either allow published comment from blog members, anyone or no one at all.
