Apply for a license first

The broadband speeds never reach the claimed speeds - I apparently have 8MB broadband. Mmmmmmm.

Oh my. I've got a broadband of 256 kbps. That, in India, is what you call the starting-point of high-speed broadband. I suppose developed countries are always going to have faster speeds. But really, 100 Mbps is a really high speed. Sigh. Wish I was there as a witness.

Eh? That's like fast dial-up speed.
I thought my internet was slow.

Isn't getting up to 100MB broadband starting to verge on pointless? I mean, how many websites are 100MB in size? The only advantage I see is for the downloading of large files, but even then, is the download speed not largly dependant on the speed of the server you're downloading from? Any downloads I make are normally in the region of 50-100 kbps.

The point is that it's easier to share images from sites like flickr or video. it's also more interesting to have websites that are designed for the broadband public in mind.

When you're uploading pictures for friends then the higher the bandwidth the nicer it is.

recently on the tube (London underground) I've seen adverts for 24megabits per second. That's a nice speed

Fast dial-up? Whatever. At least its he fastest speed offered in the region. The rest of my friends have got a measly 64 kbps broadband. And that's almost identical to a modem. Anyway, I've got a download speed of 5 to 40 kbps. And that's good enough for me all the same.

I am living in sweden were we have broadband in almost every city.. Only if you live in very remote areas you dont have it. I have 100mb and I must say really enjoy it! How good it is depends on the provider of the broadband! Some are good and some are bad! But as always it is up to us to keep pushing the companies to give us good produkts, if we don't bye the have to close or get better.... however I agree with warzabidul, clean water and good schools are more important than how fast you can get to the internet!
