Can't connect to gmail.google.com

For two or three days now, I've been unable to connect to gmail. I tried with Firefox (which tells me that the connection was interrupted and there maybe was partial data received) and Konqueror (which just tells me "no connection").

However I can connect by hand with telnet and just get a HTTP 302 Moved Temporarily to https://gmail.google.com/?dest=http%...le.com%2Fgmail so I assume there is a problem with the https server. Can anyone verify that? Will it be fixed soon?

Greets, Felix

Thank you for your replies. Because it wouldn't work with different browsers, I didn't expect the problem to be on my side, but it obviously was ... and I don't understand it **

neno.tu, following your suggestion, I logged into my account at university and started firefox there, which was awfully slow but well, it worked. So I tried and did a system update. Still no success. Then I dropped my ppp-connection and reconnected and voilą. The puzzling thing about that: I have a reconnection every night and it didn't work for some days...

Well, I won't try to understand. Now it works and I'm fine, sorry for the false alarm!

Greets, Felix

edit: this is _really_ weird: it worked one time, but now I just get the same errors again. wtf?

Now it's fine again. Strange thing is, I didn't have problems with any other website. So well, if noone else has/had this problem, just forget about it. Thanks for help so far

Yes I am. Is there some known issue?

There shouldn't be...if Konqueror is 100% W3C-standards compliant. Maybe its a problem with your ISP's cache...are you on a LAN or behind a router?

Hmm. I don't use my ISP's proxy (and there is most definitely no transparent one). I'm behind a masquerading router also running linux. I tried with and without squid, I tried with firefox and konqueror, it wouldn't work. And now it works flawlessly, for no reason I could imagine.

I think it's best to be happy for now and hope the problem won't return
