Gmail issue with Norton Antivirus? ccpxysvc.exe

Hello,

I am using a Windows XP Home edition PC, with Norton Systemworks 2004 running in the background. Whenever I visit Gmail, the Norton file ccpxysvc.exe decides that it wants to use up almost 100% of my CPU. Needless to say, my system gets completely bogged down and essentially useless.

Does anyone know of a way that I can fix this issue?

Thanks...

mondine is an unknown quantity at this point
I know it's not the answer you're looking for, but I'd advise dumping the Norton Bloatware.
Seriously, this system-crippler has generated more problems than it's solved.

Better to have smaller, dedicated programs to do individual tasks.
But maybe a fellow-sufferer will come along and advise you what you can do without resorting to a Symantec exorcism.

I would first try to disable internet scanning and see if you encounter this problem, if you still do, re-start Norton and see what happens.

On a side note, i really don't like Norton Systemworks anymore as other mentioned, it's bloated and slows down your system. You can try Avast or AVG for your AV needs.
