Gmail and Spam
divpfont face="Arial, Verdana" size="2"I've been a gmail freak since it's beginning.brbrLately I receive WAY TOO MANY spam messages into my first account (I've got a couple of them):brbrThose messages which I defined as spam are automatically sent to the spam flder upon arrival - BUT:brNew spams from the same origins repeat and come, in unimaginable quantities - as far as HUNDREDS per day!brbrI know I can erase, in one click, the whole content of the spam folder whenever I see it.brbrHowever - this "phenomenon" is still annoying, especially when the anount of these harassments increase each and every day!brbrAny idea for solving this problem, or, at least, reducing it?brbrThanks in advanceimg alt="" src="http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/smile.gif" border="0"/font/p/div

Im afraid the best methods of avoiding spam are all preventative.
Once your address has been circulated on the spamlists, you're trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube. You could try being a little more proactive. You could examine headers yourself, and send complaints to the various ISPs. Or you could use a service like Spam Cop to do it a bit more automatically. This is somewhat more effective, as 'black hat' ISPs are more likely to curb spammers if their addresses start showing up on 'Block" lists. |

Yes this is frustrating as my very first gmail account ( i have about 5) is starting to pick up spam.
I have been reporting through Spamcop (paid account) for almost 5 months and the spam just kept coming without mercy. What gets me is that i am very careful in giving out my main email address, i have a forum, shopping, promotions email addresses. And now i'm still losing... I even looked at mxlogic but alas they are expensive and of course don't' support Gmail type of web mail services. also, what i am wondering is what is Google doing when one clicks on that "Report Spam" button? |
