"Cookie" Problem

Every time I try to sign in to my gmail account I get the following message:

"Your browser's cookie functionality is turned off. Please turn it on."

I have tried everything I can think of to change my internet options to allow this cookie to go through. It will not work. I can access my account on other computers.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I have this problem on computers at school. There is no problem if you use Firefox though. Still haven't found a fix. Those PC's were running Win2000 Pro with IE6.

I am running IE 6.0 on Windows XP Home Edition. I have checked all of my internet options to make sure the cookies are not blocked. I even added gmail.com to the list of websites and cookies that are always allowed.

Use Google and Wikipedia before asking stupid questions.

Andylkl, don't be so rude. I didn't know the answer to that question four months ago either. You might think that a certain question is not so smart, but for somebody else it's a perfecly fine question. If you insist on stating that you find it a so called "stupid" question at least be mature enough to state it less rude. Don't use the word stupid, it's rude, not fair and creates a hostile atmosphere on this forum.

Actually, I am willing to be polite and help out a true blue newbie on this subject if he/she really showed an interest towards the question that he/she actually asked. I did not see that interest in this person. I would be less hostile if it wasn't for the fact that this same person spammed this Gmails section with long "HAHAHA" and "aaaaaa" posts yesterday.

[getting a little futher offtopic]

Your right there, the "haha" and "aaa" posts were plain wrong. But shouldn't a moderator have said something about that there/gave a warning and left that in the past? This isn't a "hahahahha" post, just a question.

Ofcourse your right about the show interest part, I agree with you on that.

The point I'm trying to make is that posting agressive words like "Stupid" is very hostile. This creates a negative atmosphere on a forum. People tend to be copy cats. If one person starts using it, others will follow (I've seen that here before) and that creates not just a negative atmosphere but just plain old hostility. And I personally don't think that is very good for the 'atmosphere' (sorry I don't know another word for this) on this forum.

I'm not saying you can't address (sp?) it or something, but I do think you can reformulate it a little.

btw: Andylkl, I'm not trying to attack you or anything, just giving my opinion. It could be so that everybody dissagrees with me.
