How many email recipients can I send to ?

Hi - sometimes I want to send an email to over 100 addresses in my address book at the same time. The sending fails because a screen message says one particular addressee is incorrect. I check - and it's not. If I delete that address from the To: it fails again at the next addressee to the one I just deleted.

It's like there's a maximum possible number of addressees ? Is that so please ? And is there a better way to do what I'm trying to do ?

Hmm.. I don't know if there is a maximum number of recipients.. The thing you describe looks more like a maximum number of allowed characters in the field you are using.

I don't really think there is a workaround for this maximum. Adding the contacts to a group won't work since selecting the group will paste the addresses in the group in the field.. It won't just say "Group title".

Maybe you could consider splitting the contacts you want reach in two parts..? Little more work but not really a big deal.

You did not mention your email service provider...it did depends ion each service provider.....next as Mracidhas told is the maximum number of characters allowed in that text field...so what you can do is split them into to: cc: and bcc: groups and send

Thanks for all the responses.
I split my list into smaller groups and it then worked OK.
I'd still like to know what is the actual limiting factor for future reference as this "splitting" is rather like 'trial & error' until you've cut the list down enough.
Does anyone at google admin know the answer ? That is - how to know when the limit has been reached ? Does some icon or message pop up - or what ?
Come on google - someone out there must know.
If it IS limited by the server, I'd like to have confirmation of that too. Trying to get a sensible answer to this from the local server here can be difficult because of language errors.
