Using Gmail BCC to send multiple messages

I am promoting my website to a list of email addresses I extracted with harvesting software. I was sending 100 addresses in the BCC line then my account was froze for 24 hours. It is freed up again but want to know the safest way to send similar bulk emails without offending. Comments, feedback and constructive criticism appreciated. Please note I emphasized "constructive".

"Harvesting" ! Is that what I think it is ? Is it somewhat antisocial ?
About sending 100 emails - is this a similar problem to the one I posted under "How many emails .... " in today's thread ? My problem was that I was unable to send to multiple addressees - my email was bounced every time.
It seemed that when I reached the 100th addressee in the To: field, my email was rejected. As though 100 addressees was the max that could be sent.

The harvesting pertains to software I purchased from www.emailsmartz.com and name of the software is email Tarantula. You type in "keywords" into the program & click search and it begins spidering URLs pertaining to the keyword(s) you typed in. For instance, "advertising agencies" would have it harvest email addresses of ad agencies....etc. In any case, I used the BCC to send out my email to 100 recipients. I think 500 per day is your limit. Were you trying to send to 100 different addresses in the BCC or carbon copy field?
