I'm having a problem with firefox and gmail. I use outlook for everything, at work, at home, and on the go. The other day I got a new computer and installed Firefox. I logged into gmail and enabled pop for all mail (i need all my mail on all my PCs for work).
Soon after I went on craigslist and clicked an mailto email link. The gmail pop-up popped and asked me to open gmail when clicking on mailtos. Without thinking about it I clicked "Yes". I thought it was the encrypted pop-up. Now every time I click mailto links Firefox opens a new tab with gmails compose mail. I want it to use Outlook. Not gmail. Ive looked all over the net and only found on how not to use outlook. How do I disable this gmail mailto link thingy. This is really getting under my skin when I cant use outlook when clicking the mailto links. can you help ![]() THX Z |

i haven't experienced that before... I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird for my mails... And i open my gmail account through Firefox but i don't experience that problem... It all works well on my computer... have you tried reinstalling your OS? Sometimes if i cant really figure out a problem on my computer, i re-format my PC... then i download and install the softwares that i use and everything goes back to normal...
just my opinion... ^_^ |

Well Zavaz, its really a unusual behaviour.I think its a problem with the Internet Settings. you need to configure it. Open any website on the Firefox Browser, go to Tools-internet options-programme tab- Email: Outlook express. see if it works..not so sure..but there is no harm to experiment with this. Thanks

I know the solution. Please set Firefox options as following steps:
1. Open (run) firefox program 2. Click "Options" at google toolbar near "Subscribe". Not options under Tools at menu bar. 3. At tab browsing you will see "Send with Gmail" unmark it. 4. Click OK. I think this will help you. |
