"Enable POP" Setting Won't Save

Hello,
I use a couple of Gmail accounts through Outlook Express for pretty long time.
A few days ago I noticed that no new messages arrive in my OE inbox. I sent some test messages to myself, which also didn't arrive in my OE inbox, although OE never reported ant errors.
After further checking I discovered the following: incoming messages do arrive to Gmail, but they aren't made accessible via POP.
It's kind of weird, but Gmail won't save the "Enable POP" setting. If I change the setting to "Enable POP", click "Save Changes" and then immediately run OE - all the messages will download properly, but the minute I log out from Gmail the messages will again be inaccessible via POP. Moreover, when I return to Gmail's settings - the "Enable POP" defaults again - none of the options is checked!
