Apply label/Archive

Is there any way that you can apply a label and then archive emails from a specific address automatically? I guess what I want is a bit like applying a spam filter except that I want to keep these emails.

i don't think you can do that on gmail... but i never tried it before.. maybe you can suggest that one...besides its still on beta..
