Let me clear something up, here.
1000MB does not equal 1GB
1000KB does not equal 1MB

1024KB DOES equal 1MB
1024MB DOES equal 1GB

Thus, 2048MB is 2GB...not 2000!

But it's only going up to 2000MB? They make it sound like it's going up forever! Oh, wait...I bet that's their April Fool's Joke...

Once upon a time, you could tell if there were using the 1024 or 1000 based on the case of the letters. UPPER meant 1024, lower meant 1000. But not it doesn't matter much anymore.

Generally, anything in print usually refers to 1000, and anything on the computer refers to 1024.
Well you can go on net and search and argue!!

Technically Yes 1 GB equals 1024 MB

For eg take DVD's It is always told that DVD stores 4.7GB of data but if we put 1 GB = 1024 MB it will store only 4.34 GB of data.

Snake
For me it is:

You are currently using 26 MB (2%) of your 1588 MB.

I like on the Gmail.com main page the Gmail storage keeps going up.

Hopefully it is not a joke... I doubt they would joke about giving out webmail space then take it away.
