Gmail and google.com won't load...

I'm at my wits end here...
When I try to load up gmail or google.com with any browser, it says " cannot display the webpage". All other sites open normally.
I've tried clearing all browsing history, done multiple AV scans and spyware scans, and still no luck. Is this a worm, or what?
I can bring up my account on my laptop, but my main pc running Vista is causing me grief.
TIA for any help.

Hi there,

Well it is a weird problem you have here......

Have you checked the hosts file!

To get to this simply load up "My Computer" then follow the file path for your operating system:

Windows 95/98/Me c:\windows\hosts
Windows NT/2000/XP Pro c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Windows XP Home c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Once you have located this file, right click it and open in Wordpad or Notepad

<<<WARNING>>>>>>
EDITING THIS FILE CAN AFFECT YOUR COMPUTER IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL, TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

When the "Hosts" file is open look for gmail.com or google.com if they are there delete them from the text, then resave the file!!

Try again and see if it loads
