Gmail user name configuration requirements?

Hi --

Can anyone tell me if gmail is now requiring numbers in the user names?

I'm trying to set up an account for my boss and no matter what user name I/we pick, a message appears saying that the name is not available but then something very similar is suggested, but with numbers. He doesn't want any numbers.

your name is "tempgal" and then, my name is "tempgal"
if we have each mails by "tempgal".How Mail Server send whom?
should be choose again another username.

it means that you enter a username that is not available or already in use.. you should have to select unique username... the other username with numbers is just a suggestion.. which is available..

I had the same problem and gave up... came back tommorow and it worked... hopefully ur boss is in a good mood.

If the name is something that can be split, try using 'firstname.lastname.

taking your name as an example, it could be 'temp.gal'
