gmail sucks

I find gmail useless if I cannot transfer my email from my previous account. Has anyone managed to do that? (sending many messages at once to a gmail account). It doesn't work, see my previous post

It's a pity as any other servers can easily manage this...

@Google
Gmail is the best email service and it will have more and more features soon. It is still in Beta version.

If you want to transfer mail go to this web site read the information... Not knowing what software you are talking about I can't give you any advice -- for outlook I found a program (can't remember the name) from a college that converted .pst to .mbox then gmail loader transferred the rest easily -- google it something like "outlook to mbox" or "pst to mbox" -- took me all of 20 minutes convert pst and about 60 to transfer all messages to g-mail sent to sent and saved or inbox to inbox... Just because you have not figured it out yet doesn't condemn g-mail -- millions did figure it out.

Whoever thinks I'm the only one having problems should have a look at this forum
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...eferred&qt_g=1

I wouldn't call an email service which refuses emails "the best email service". I have tried from different initial accounts and this always fails, and between these accounts themselves always works. I think gmail is the guilty one.

I guess I missed where Yahoo! Mail and Hotmail offered these services and GMail doesn't.

I just switched to gmail from yahoo premium. Not sure if the free yahoo is the same but it allows you to export all of your emails from your inbox, sent box, folders, etc to zip files. All you have to do then is attach the zip and email to your gmail. Works great for backing up the emails and/or switching over to gmail.

I'm sure the Gmail team will figure that out eventually. All you need to do is go to their Contact Us page and send them a message about this little problem of yours. I'm sure they would do something to fix this problem that Gmail has.
