Unable to sort all of my e-mails by subject, sender or date

Hi,

I am unable to sort my Gmail emails by subject, sender or by date. That is probably a basic feature of an e-mail application missing from GMAIL. can anyone guide me about this if it is already there or any plans to incorporate such a basic feature in Gmail?

You can search for messages by any of those attributes by using the search options link beside the search bar. As far as I know, you cannot make lists of messages display by default in a different order. I never noticed until just now.

I've been annoyed by this a bit myself, though it's not really that big a deal for me. Every conversation is automatically sorted by last received message. Whenever I needed to find something, I can always find it just by glancing over the subject names. That's how I would find what I'm looking for anyways. I don't think sorting it in a different fashion has actually helped me in any practical way except to please my eye, or just because it's the way I like to do it.

But, like darren said, if you think Gmail could use an improvement in anything, or you have any kind of suggestion for Google, go click on that link.

At a quick inspection of the page I have noticed the following is as a tick box:

Organization
Sort by sender, date, and/or message size

That means that Gmail must know that other people would like to this feature, so all you have to do is tick the box enter your email and click submit.
