Hi Everyone,
Im new to this forum...... But... I am thinking about switching to gmail IMAP but I am sorta confused about somethings. lets say I get an email from JO BLOW and I hit REPLY and reply then move it to a folder called MAIL FROM JO BLOW then a few min later.. JO BLOW replies back to me. I open it in my inbox read it and then hit delete I was reading that gmail if you move the inbox copy to the GMAIL / TRASH FOLDER it would delete the whole thing? even the email I saved in the JOE BLOW folder. but what if I dont want to copy in the JOE BLOW folder I just want to delete the copy in the inbox. I was googling about gmail imap and was reading on that. I use outlook 2003. so I am wondering.. wow gmails IMAP is so confusing I am still using gmail POP as of right now. Thanks, Christopher Last edited by cmarlow480; 12-09-2007 at 01:46 PM. Reason: spelling in stuff. |

I tried it in outlook express on a different account and when I deleted the replies from the inbox the orginal stayed in the folder that I assigned it in. I am hopeing others will also reply back to this and hopefully their answers will be NO that doesnt happen so that way I can switch to imap! Thanks for the input! Christopher |
