I get an IE error message everytime I try to access Gmail from my homepage

Every time I try to go to the Gmail login page I get an error message that pops up and closes my Internet Explorer window and doesn’t let me get to Gmail. This only occurs if I try to access Gmail directly from my home page (Google) and if it is the first site that I try to go to. If I go to any other site before I try to go to Gmail then the error message doesn’t pop up and I can access my email. If I change my homepage then I can access Gmail. I only get the error if Google is set as my homepage and I try to go to Gmail first. The error message is the standard internet explorer message, "IE has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I've looked at the technical info for the error but don't see an error ID or anything. This isn't stopping me from checking my email or going to any other websites but is just annoying. Anyone heard of this error and/or have any hints to fix it? Thanks all!

yah..i saw this error as a long time.
and then,now i used firefox.,i have no problems at firefox.(just a little)

for fix..
this may be about IE problems.,
1.Delete Temporary Files (and Offline Files)
2.Delete Cookies
3.Click on "Settings" ->View Files - Delete all Gmail and Google entries (or everything if it's easier on you - this may be empty if cookies and temp files worked correctly) Then close.
4.Click on "View Objects" - Delete ActiveX, if it's listed. Close
