Gmail Server Problem?

All of a sudden I can't send an email message out through Gmail's
outbound server. My outgoing server setting in my MacBook Pro is:
smtp.gmail.com. My email client is Apple's Mail, and for this server
the error message states "offline". Is anyone else experiencing this
problem with Gmail?

I'm trying to determine if this is a Gmail server problem or a problem in my Mail client....Thanks...SlimJim

at last week,Gmail Team was wrong and some users was locked,about Gmail 2.0.
so,we can see some problems in the moment.

Thanks, "Ugly Cat", for your reply. I'm up and running now. Every system/program has problems occasionally. Google provides a fine, free service in Gmail so I really can't complain....Slim Jim

Yes, you're right, and Gmail may set a record for being in a "test" mode the longest of any program in history! However, I'm not complaining. As long as it's in a test mode I'm hoping Google won't want to charge for this service...<grin>...SlimJim

Beta...meaning it's still in testing stage and some errors might occur at anytime...
